It all started with a group of golf buddies living north of Boston who were waking up well before dawn on a Tuesday or working as a collective throughout the week to scour their local public golf websites in hopes of being able to play golf that weekend.
That group of friends… is us. And all too often, we found ourselves settling to barely squeeze in a late afternoon round before dark or, god forbid, playing one of those dog tracks just begging to become condos. Honestly, worst of all, and my eyes are welling up thinking about it, there were times during those beautiful mid-summer weekends when we weren’t even able to play golf at all…
Now, before you read any further, if you are someone who lives in a rural area or a city where the number of courses outweighs the demand, you probably have no idea what I’m talking about. I’d be willing to bet you are thinking to yourself, why would I not just google available tee times and click one of those third-party sites? Well, in a city like Boston, or many other similar cities around the US, this isn’t possible. Demand is far too high, and these public golf courses have no problem filling out their tee sheet. So why would they give a third party a cut of their bookings? Exactly, these high-traffic courses very often don’t partner with a third-party website. So, for us and others like us, there is no easy solution to finding tee times at quality public courses
Fortunately for our group, some of us are pretty good with technology. We’ve created a tool that will collect the tee times for more than just the courses you will find on other third-party sites. Rather than keep it for ourselves (and of course, take on the full financial burden to maintain it), we decided to make it public for other golfers in the same situation. If you are a golfer who would gladly pay a few dollars each week to improve the likelihood of finding that tee time you desire and don’t want to spend precious time monitoring public golf course websites, then TeeGrab is for you.
